Matters Arising
Some alcohol remains following Burns Night worth £85. Net profit for this event is therefore in fact £635
Morris men and a caller will be present at the Bale fire. Agreed we should sell tickets for the event afterwards to commence with a pooled supper shortly after the fire and dancing. The supper and dancing could be promoted at the fire as well as selling tickets. Agreed we will have a bar and a family ticket. £5 per adult and £10 per family of 4. Detail to be discussed at a future meeting.
Cinzia will discuss the Alistair Anderson gig with him and confirm in due course.
Treasurer's Report
Billy delivered Elliott's report in his absence. Copy attached to the Minutes.
Cinzia's New Production
Cinzia has successfully won an award from Te Arts Council and Dance City to stage a performance on Heritage Open Weekend, which will include professional performers and also local people (Cinzia will be seeking out performers). The event will include input from the local school children. It will be staged in the Manor House Garden. The show will be a quirky tour of the garden and is the only event in Northumberland to have won an award. A folk musician called Katie Docherty will also perform. It will be staged on 11 th , 12 th and 13 th September. Cinzia will rehearse in the Hall and as funds are limited would be grateful for a reasonable rent. Cinzia would be glad for any help in running this event. The performance will be by booking but will be free. 50 people can watch at a time. Agreed the Committee will fully support this event as far as we can.
Highlights
22 April 2009 ‘A Cartoon History of Here'
Tickets £7.50 each. All to promote. Posters are available to distribute.
Fiona will do the bar.
Show
Martin is comfortable without a committee and indeed feels he and Sheila could manage alone. Liz Grix has also offered her services on the day.
Various advertisers have already confirmed.
It is felt appropriate the deposit money for the stalls is banked by the Treasurer. The logistics of this need to be ironed out.
New Recruits for the Committee
It is sad that many of the committee are so often unable to attend committee meetings and many of the user groups are unrepresented. It is felt reps should be sought from all such groups and also enquiries made from existing members as to whether they wish to remain on the committee. Billy will make enquiries.
New recruits are needed to the committee to assist in maintaining the fabric and running costs of the Hall. Toddlers and Brownies need representatives. Other persons need approaching to join. A new secretary in particular is required . Strategy to be reviewed urgently in April.
Fiona will be out of the country for the summer and may return in September depending on how things turn out. She will however catalogue the library books before she leaves. Fiona was granted leave of absence.
AOB
Emma attended.
There being no other business the meeting closed at 20.52.
Next meeting: 14 April 2009.
