Minutes of the Committee Meeting held on 13 th January 2009 at 7.30pm

Billy thanked those who decorated the Hall for Christmas and Stewart for decorating the tree. Alison to write and thank Mrs Cookson for kindly donating the beautiful tree.

Minutes of meeting on 9th December 2008 read and agreed as a correct record.
Matters Arising
Post Office is still running and has a fine new notice board – sadly with no notices on it as yet.
Carol singing was not very successful as the weather was foul and singing was limited.
Treasurer's Report
Elliott delivered his report. Copy attached to the Minutes.
Highlights
22 April 2009 ‘A Cartoon History of Here' – this is a comedy, cartoonery and poetry show from a highly regarded broadcaster/comedian. Tickets £7.50 each. All to promote what should be an excellent event suitable for all persons over 7 but really for adults. Agreed wine/ a bar and nibbles would be appropriate. Elliott will obtain a Licence.
Burns Night
56 tickets have been sold so far. We need to sell 100. A notice will be put up on the school board by Charlotte .
Sheila allocated neeps, tatties and trifles to the committee
Richard Grix will do the bar. Fiona suggested people bring their own and charge corkage. Sheila felt a bar was better given the guest list.
Waiters/waitresses – Hannah, Jamie, Jessica and Harry will be asked to work.
Ticket money will be collected from the tables.
Plastic boxes required for washing up from each committee member
The Hall needs clearing the next morning for the deer society event the next afternoon.

Show
Sheila has received enquiries re the date so a decision needs to be made.
Following enquiries by Billy, Mr Norton has agreed to use of his field on the day only.
Billy suggested we use the school field for the marquees and not hold the football there.
Agreed to hold an extraordinary meeting of the Show Committee when Martin returns to discuss and arrange a date.
Possible Event:
Fiona reported that Dodgy Clutch would like to hold an event at the Hall which involves a parade to raise money for a South African project. Villagers can attend free. Possibly 2 nd /3 rd April. Sponsors will attend.
Auction for the Church
Saturday 28 th March 2009
Emma attended the meeting. The water boiler tap is dripping. Sheila can purchase a new boiler for £49.50 on offer at Cash and Carry. Agreed.
