  Minutes

Minutes of meeting on 11th November 2008 read and agreed as a correct record.

  Matters Arising

  •  Billy provided details of the expenses revealed in the accounts last month

•  Post Office is up and running on Thursday mornings. There have been some teething problems with equipment and delay in arrival of the post mistress. Very many thanks to Stewart for procuring appropriate furniture, locks and shelving and repairing a heater in the Hall.

•  Stephen has identified a Caller for a bingo evening.

Unfortunately Stephen Bilclough has tendered his resignation for the time being due to work commitments, although he is still very willing to help where he can at functions and with electrical/plumbing issues. Many thanks expressed to Stephen for his huge contribution to date.

  Treasurer's Report

Billy delivered Elliott's report in his absence. Copy attached to the Minutes.

Elliott submitted an excellent annual submission to the Parish Council as regards our application for a contribution to costs. This was delivered by Sue and has resulted in a £1750 contribution towards our running costs which is magnificent.

Highlights

The puppet show was excellent with rave reviews from those who attended. 95 people (53 children) attended so it was felt this was a good time of year for such an event. We made a small surplus after costs of £53 so this was a success.

Carol Singing

19 th December 2008 Carol singing outside the Hall. The Vicar will lead the singing. The Cooksons have once again kindly provided a Christmas tree. Agreed to leave the music arrangements to the Vicar/Church. The Hall will be open for toilets and in case it is wet. Mulled wine to be sold at £1 per cup.

Fundraising

24th January 2009 Burns Night. Tickets £12.50 each. 100 tickets are available.

Emma attended the meeting. All present participated in a fire drill.
